Located in El Matorral, just five kilometres from the island capital of Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura Airport plays a key role in tourism development on the island.

Road: Taxi: Fuerteventura Taxi Association (tel: 928 532 057) operates taxis from the airport to various locations, including Jandía Beach and Corralejo. Bus: Bus route 3 runs from the airport to Puerto del Rosario every hour 0745-2045 and to Caleta Fuste every hour 0715-2015; route 1 runs from Puerto del Rosario to Morro Jable 0700-1900 Monday-Saturday and 0900-1900 Sunday. It also runs from Morro Jable to Puerto del Rosario 0600-1900 Monday-Saturday and 0800-1900 Sunday; route 6 runs from Puerto del Rosario to Corralejo every hour 0700-2100 and from Corralejo to Puerto del Rosario every hour 0700-2000. Since 1 December 2000, Fuerteventura airport has the International Accessibility Symbol for the terminal, car park and accesses, granted by the Department of Employment and Social Affairs at the Canary Island Government.
This certificate guarantees that the airport facilities meet the measures included in the Regulations of the 8/1995 Act of 6 April, which controls Accessibility and the Supression of Physical and Communication Barriers. Fuerteventura airport was the first Spanish airport and the first building in the Canary Islands to obtain this recognition.
