The Gerona-Costa Brava airport has an important position from both a tourist point of view and as regards trade and industry, as it is located near the Costa Brava, the Pyrenees and the cities of Gerona and Barcelona, 10 and 85 km away, respectively.
Due to the "budget" airlines, the Girona-Costa Brava airport has experienced spectacular growth in recent years, which has led to traffic in excess of 3 million passengers in 2005, that is, a growth of 19.3% compared with 2004. Furthermore, it handled 32,126 flight operations and 241 tonnes of cargo.

Driving Directions for Girona Airport:
The airport is accessed by the N-II, the AP-7 (exit 8) and the C-25. These roads have exits which join the 1,700 metre-long road which leads to the airport.
Car Parking at Girona Airport:
The Girona airport currently has approximately 2,000 parking spaces distributed over 3 areas, called P1, P2 and P3.
In the P1 area, there is a prefabricated car park building with 860 spaces, located on the north side of the Terminal (in front of the Old Terminal). There is a Car Park Meeting Point at the entrance to this building.
The car park is controlled by a permanent (24-hour) security service and customer assistance. Entry to the car park is through the single access, consisting of two entryways. There are two exits for leaving the car park.
To access the car parks, you must obtain a ticket by pressing the button on the ticket vending machine located at each of the two entryways. Once in the car park, you should drive slowly. To guarantee smooth traffic, a tow truck will remove all vehicles parked in unauthorised spots and the offender will be charged a fine.
Once you leave the vehicle, do not leave valuables in sight and be sure to lock the doors. Take the ticket with you and do not lose it. Remember where you have left your vehicle.
To leave the car park, you must pay for the time stayed before removing the vehicle. There are 5 automatic payment machines in front of the car park control booth. After making the payment, remove the validated ticket from the machine and go to your vehicle. You have 20 minutes to leave the car park. To exit, introduce the ticket in the ticket cancellation machine located at each exit. The way out has a dual gate system and, therefore, in order to exit you must position the vehicle in front of the second barrier after the first one opens.
If you have lost the ticket or you have any problems, request information by pressing the button available on all of the automatic payment machines or go to the information centre.
If your car battery does not work, the car park operators will start your car free of charge.
